While he has written and produced numerous albums of acoustic-based music throughout his career, his visual practice focuses on expressive oil paintings that blend elements of contemporary folk art and expressionism. Influenced by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Gabriele Munter and Richard Diebenkorn, Bennett has developed a distinctive painterly language characterised by ragged textures, muted tones and an intuitive, narrative quality.
